All works are available for purchase.Companion and lover of John Lennon during his Lost Weekend era, Pang will discuss her candid photos of Lennon, which will be available for purchase.Guests for this show may park in the church lot on the corner of Park and Abbeville Streets.Few people knew John Lennon as intimately as May Pang. Pang was Lennon’s lover during the infamous Lost Weekend, which lasted 18 months, from late 1973 through 1975. During this highly creative time for Lennon, Pang took candid photos of Lennon. A collection of these private photographs will be on display and available for purchase at the new location of Rob Shaw Gallery & Framing.During the Lost Weekend, with Pang's help, Lennon had his most artistically and commercially productive post-Beatles period with the albums Mind Games, Walls and Bridges, which includes his only #1 hit single, "Whatever Gets You Through the Night," as well as "Rock and Roll" and collaborations with rock legends Elton John, David Bowie, Harry Nilsson, Mick Jagger, and Ringo Starr, among others. On that album Pang can be heard whispering John's name in the song “#9 Dream,” and “Surprise, Surprise (Sweet Bird of Paradox),” was written about Pang.Pang encouraged Lennon to reconnect with his family and his friends, inspiring a reunion and memorable jam session with Paul McCartney. Pang also arranged for Julian Lennon to visit his father for the first time in almost three years. One of Pang’s photographs of Julian Lennon graces the cover of Julian’s latest album titled Jude.Other highlights of the exhibit include the only existing photograph of Lennon signing the contract to dissolve the Beatles as well as one of the last known photographs of Lennon and McCartney together on March 29, 1974. Neither photograph has been available for purchase until now.The Lost Weekend–The Photography of May Pang coincides with the recent digital release of the feature film documentary The Lost Weekend: A Love Story, produced by Briarcliff Entertainment.Watch the film’s trailer and see the film on Amazon Prime, AppleTV, YouTube.
